One reason Céline doesn't like to talk about her depression might have to do with the idea that mental illness is less "visible" than physical illness

She grew up watching her father and then her brother suffer from physical illness. The pain they went through and the damage it did was very visible. In contrast, her mental illness is not visible in the same way. Céline is the only one who can understand and explain her pain. Those around her can only do so much unless she speaks up about it

But, since she sees how other family members are suffering more visibly from their illness, she probably thinks her own struggle is less "valid" and "real" in comparison even though it is a real problem and she is allowed to open up about it

I'm glad Céline finally opens up to Alfred specifically about her struggles, because I'm pretty sure she's still grappling with that mindset and talking things through with him will show that her struggle is just as real and that her well-being matters just as much to him and everyone else
